Allgemeine Information
The Art Loss Register
TEFAF was also the first fair to introduce The Art Loss Register, in 2000. The Art Loss Register is the largest private database of stolen art in the world. It helps resolve art-related ownership disputes and operates as a central checkpoint for due-diligence searches and provenance research. It also assists the art trade in protecting itself against trading in stolen, looted, illegally excavated or exported property to safeguard its financial security, reputation and clients. Any object found to be stolen is removed from the fair immediately.
